UFO Disclosure 2010 : The People Speak

Apr 7, 2010

By Kelly Jad'on

In 1982 I sat in a university classroom in Southern Michigan.  The professor, a conservative Christian, stated that he had seen a UFO while driving home one night.  I believed him.

A 2008 poll conducted by Opinion Dynamics Corporation has shown that 34% of Americans believe in UFOs.  A survey (Scripps Howard News Service and Ohio University/ 2008) found that 1 of 12 U.S. adults has seen a strange heavenly object and 1 of 5 knows someone who has seen a UFO.  A 1997 CNN/Time poll showed that 80% of U.S. citizens believe the U.S. government is concealing evidence of extraterrestrial beings.

A movement is afoot to close the divide between the government and its citizens regarding the issue.  One outspoken individual at the forefront is Steven M. Greer, M.D. Director of the Disclosure Project.  Six decades of secrecy on the subject has been too long he believes (1950s-2010 approx.)

Greer has written a briefing about UFO Disclosure to President Obama, asking him to break the secretive silence and be completely transparent on the matter.  He cites in the briefing support for disclosure from the Vatican, Canadian and European leaders, Asia—specifically China.  Greer believes that if we do not move forward first, we may be left behind by the Europeans and Asians.  In addition, he states that approximately 2/3rds of the Central Intelligence Agency would agree with this decision.

Stanton T. Friedman, nuclear physicist and UFO researcher has provided written testimony to Congressional Hearings regarding ufology, what he terms a “Cosmic Watergate,” and considers it to be the most classified U.S. topic.  He writes in his book Flying Saucers And Science that if the information regarding UFOs was released,

  • Church attendance would increase.
  • Mental hospital admissions would increase.
  • The stock market would go down; uncertainty is always the enemy.

In addition, he believes that we would no longer view ourselves as Americans, Chinese, Brazilians, or the like, but rather would see ourselves as Earthlings.  This he says is only one reason for many governments to continue the extraterrestrial denial.   “It would certainly appear to be past time to lift the laughter curtain that gets in the way of full disclosure by individuals, and inhibits full investigation by scientists and journalists.” Friedman writes in his book Flying Saucers And Science (New Page Books / 2008).

MUFON, the Mutual UFO Network, published an open letter (1994) about what they would like to see made available to the public.  The International Director, John F. Schuessler wrote, "There is little doubt that government officials could put an end to this mystery if they were motivated to do so. Files could be opened. Satellite data could be released. Films could be released. Military and other government officials could be relieved of security oaths were UFO reports are concerned. NORAD, Dew Line and other tracking systems data sets could be released. NASA files could be released and crewmembers given permission to speak freely."

The time for the reality of UFO acceptance has arrived.  We are not alone. How and when this information is disseminated is arguable; but overall, the public already has decided the matter. The ball is now in the court of the United States government.

Some public officials are beginning to step forward, without fear of ridicule.

Lt. Colonel Rick Francona (U.S. Air Force--Retired) states that the Air Force did have Project Bluebook years ago… “As far as extraterrestrial life, it seems to me to be the height of arrogance to believe that with all the millions of planets and galaxies in an infinite universe that we on Earth are the ONLY intelligent life form.  Assuming there are other life forms, why would we not assume that some are more advanced?  I don’t think all the UFO sightings have been adequately explained. There’s something out there….”

For UFO lobbyist, the truth is out there

The airspace above the U.S. Capitol is a no-fly zone, but Wilbur Allen says he regularly sees unidentified flying objects overhead.

At dusk, Allen often sits quietly at the base of the Reflecting Pool, his camera pointed toward the Capitol dome, waiting for something, anything, to travel through one of the most heavily secured skylines in the world.
